Same-day service in the north

Our Epping yard is at 55 Produce Drive, Epping VIC 3076, with visits by appointment only. You don’t need to come to us: we offer same-day on-site forklift service across Melbourne, covering Epping, Thomastown, Lalor, Mill Park, South Morang, Wollert, Bundoora, Campbellfield, Somerton and Craigieburn. We fix the forklift where it works, so there’s no downtime spent trucking it to a workshop.

We mainly repair Toyota forklifts, the same brand we mainly sell. Our service special covers gas, petrol and electric forklifts up to 3t. For repairs on other makes, call and ask.

Common faults, by fuel type

LPG (gas) forklifts

  • Hard starting, rough running or stalling
  • A gas smell around the cylinder or engine. Stop using the forklift, turn the cylinder valve off and call us.
  • Overheating, or smoke from the exhaust

Electric forklifts

  • A battery that won’t hold a charge, or a charger that won’t finish a cycle
  • Fault codes on the display
  • Slow travel or lifting, even on a full charge

Both

  • Hydraulic leaks, or the mast drifting down under load
  • Worn or stretched lift chains
  • Worn tyres, soft brakes or heavy steering

Daily pre-start checks your operators can do

A two-minute check at the start of every shift picks up most problems early:

  • Walk around the machine: look for leaks, damage and tyre wear.
  • Check the forks for cracks or bends, and the chains for damage.
  • Check fluid levels. On electric forklifts, check the battery and charger leads.
  • Test the horn, lights, seatbelt and brakes.
  • Raise and lower the mast without a load, and listen for anything unusual.

Write it down. If something fails, tag the forklift out of service and call us.

Regular servicing

Follow your manufacturer’s interval, which for many forklifts is every 200–250 hours, depending on the work. Forklifts that aren’t used often should still get a safety check every 3–6 months. Keep the service record with the machine: it shows the forklift has been looked after.

While it’s off the road
