Short Term Forklift Hire Melbourne

Toyota gas (LPG) forklifts, 1.8 to 3 tonne, for short-term hire anywhere in Melbourne. A late-model Toyota 1.8–2.5 tonne is $180–$250 + GST per week, and minimum hire is generally one week. Servicing and breakdown cover are included. Call 1300 326 654 or send an enquiry.

When short-term hire makes sense

  • A container or a run of containers has landed and needs unloading. See container forklift hire.
  • Peak season, a stocktake or a big order needs a second forklift for a few weeks.
  • Your own forklift is off the road for repairs.
  • A fit-out, move or one-off project where buying doesn’t add up.

What it costs

  • Toyota LPG (gas) forklift, 1.8–3 tonne: from $30/day + GST.
  • Weekly hire, late-model Toyota 1.8–2.5 tonne container mast: $180–$250 + GST per week. A standard mast is sometimes cheaper.
  • Minimum hire: generally one week.
  • Delivery and pick-up: from around $180 + GST, depending on your suburb. Quoted before you book.

Electric forklifts in the same sizes are also from $30/day + GST for indoor work. Reach trucks and scissor lifts: call 1300 326 654 for rates.

What’s included

  • Servicing and breakdown cover for the length of the hire.
  • A machine matched to the job: tell us the load weight, lift height, indoors or outdoors, and the delivery address.
  • Hire now, pay later, with an account set up in under 5 minutes.

Need it longer?

Keep the forklift as long as the work runs. Delivery costs less the longer you hire, and on hires over a month ask us about reduced delivery and long-term forklift hire rates. See all hire options on our forklift hire Melbourne page.
