Forklifts for Footscray, West Footscray and Tottenham

Most of Footscray’s industrial land sits on its western side. The larger estates are in West Footscray and Tottenham, along Sunshine Road, Paramount Road and Ashley Street near Tottenham Station, where old woolstores and factories now house high-clearance warehouses. Closer to the river, Footscray Road heads out to the docks, and Brooklyn’s transport yards are just over Geelong Road. Importers, food wholesalers, building suppliers, freight forwarders and small manufacturers all run forklifts here.

We deliver from our Werribee yard at Unit 2/76 Riverside Ave, straight up the Princes Freeway. We’re family owned and have been running since 2009, and our fleet is mainly Toyota. When you call, you talk to the business that owns and looks after the machines.

Which forklift suits your site

  • LPG (gas) forklifts. For docks, hardstand and jobs that move between the yard and the warehouse.
  • Electric forklifts. Quiet, with no exhaust where people are working. A good fit for food storage and indoor pick areas.
  • Container mast forklifts, 1.8 to 2.5 tonne. Late-model Toyotas low enough to drive inside a shipping container.

Tell us the load, how high it needs to go and whether the forklift works inside, outside or both. See our full hire range.

Containers off the port

Being this close to the docks, plenty of Footscray and Tottenham warehouses unpack containers every week. A container mast forklift lets you reach the back of the box without hitting the roof. If containers only land now and then, hiring one for the week they arrive is usually simpler than owning one.

Older buildings and tight yards

Not every Footscray site is a new estate. Lots of businesses work out of older brick factories with narrow roller doors, low beams or a small yard shared with the neighbours. Tell us the door height and how much room you have to turn, and we’ll suggest a machine that fits.

What it costs

  • From $30/day + GST. Minimum hire is generally one week.
  • $180 to $250 + GST per week for a late-model Toyota 1.8 to 2.5 tonne container mast forklift. Standard mast forklifts are sometimes cheaper.
  • Delivery from around $180 + GST, depending on your suburb, quoted up front for your Footscray address.
  • Long-term hire. Call for long-term rates.

Short-term or long-term

Short-term hire suits a run of containers, a stocktake, a busy season or covering your own forklift while it’s off the road.

Long-term hire keeps a forklift on site without buying one, at a cost you can plan around.
